چکیده

(2001) A coupled Element Free Galerkin / Boundary Element method for stress analysis of two-dimensional solids. Abstract Element Free Galerkin (EFG) method is a newly developed meshless method for solving partial differential equations using Moving Least Squares interpolants. It is, however, computationally expensive for many problems. A coupled EFG/Boundary Element (BE) method is proposed in this paper to improve the solution efficiency. A procedure is developed for the coupled EFG/BE method so that the continuity and compatibility are preserved on the interface of the two domains where the EFG and BE methods are applied. The present coupled EFG/BE method has been coded in FORTRAN. The validity and efficiency of the EFG/BE method are demonstrated through a number of examples. It is found that the present method can take the full advantages of both EFG and BE methods. It is very easy to implement, and very flexible for computing displacements and stresses of desired accuracy in solids with or without infinite domains.

Crack Analysis, Using a New Coupled FE-EFG Method

To solve crack problems, some coupled methods have been developed in recent years. Most of these methods have some shortcomings such as the need for a transition region. The finite element and enriched element free Galerkin methods are widely used for this class of problems. In order to take the advantages of these methods while avoiding the disadvantages, it is essential to follow solution app...

Element Free Galerkin Method for Static Analysis of Thin Micro/Nanoscale Plates Based on the Nonlocal Plate Theory

In this article, element free Galerkin method is used for static analysis of thin micro/nanoscale plates based on the nonlocal plate theory. The problem is solved for the plates with arbitrary boundary conditions. Since shape functions of the element free Galerkin method do not satisfy the Kronecker’s delta property, the penalty method is used to impose the essential boundary conditions. Discre...

Element free Galerkin method for crack analysis of orthotropic plates

A new approach for analyzing cracked problems in 2D orthotropic materials using the well-known element free Galerkin method and orthotropic enrichment functions is proposed. The element free Galerkin method is a meshfree method which enables discontinuous problems to be modeled efficiently. In this study, element free Galerkin is extrinsically enriched by the recently developed crack-tip orthot...

The Nonlinear Bending Analysis for Circular Nano Plates Based on Modified Coupled Stress and Three- Dimensional Elasticity Theories

In this paper, the nonlinear bending analysis for annular circular nano plates is conducted based on the modified coupled stress and three-dimensional elasticity theories. For this purpose, the equilibrium equations, considering nonlinear strain terms, are calculated using the least energy potential method and solved by the numerical semi-analytical polynomial method. According to the previous ...
